West Australian Wildflowers
Every spring, the landscape of Western Australia is transformed with the arrival of wildflower season. The South Western corner of WA is known as a biodiversity hotspot, and is home to more than 1500 endemic species of plants. In short: it’s an incredibly special place.
During 2018’s ‘superbloom’ (a once-in-a-decade event that sees an unusually high number of wildflowers paint the landscape) Laurent and I drove north to ‘Wildflower County’, near the township of Coorow (2.5 hours north of Perth). I took these photos there, and they’re still some of my most favourite photographs I’ve ever taken.
